PSA: Windows 10’s Anniversary Update reactivates ads you’ve already disabled - brubakeralks1993

Last night, I finally upgraded my chief PC to Windows 10's John Roy Major Anniversary Update. It's no secret that Windows 10's stuffed with tax revenue-generating hooks for Microsoft, but I find the thought of a paid-for operating system shoving straight-upwardly ads in my face distasteful, and disabled the Get Power ads and every other ad-collateral setting months ago. After a flake of poking and spur, I determined that on the far side reinstalling the Amaze Office app that surfaces those notifications, the Anniversary Update also re-enabled Start card and lock screen ads, essentially moving my definitive choice to disable them come out the window. And IT did so without consent or tied a notice that these changes were happening in the background.

Funnily enough, several other customizations I'd made to the Windows 10—from disabling ad trailing in Windows Store apps to tweaking the BitTorrent-like distribution of updates to my paper—remained intact subsequently the upgrade. As far as I privy tell with a quick perusal, these ad-pushing settings are the only ones that changed when I installed the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

Non cool, Microsoft. Not cool.

Anyway, Microsoft's tranquillize in the process of rolling out the Anniversary Update to users, and the majority of Windows 10 owners haven't successful the upgrade thus far.
